Nadaburg Unified School District is comprised of Wittmann, a small, unincorporated rural community, and the Northwest corridor of the fast growing City of Surprise, AZ, as well as a small segment of the Northwestern part of Peoria, AZ. The topography is a combination of the high Sonoran Desert with an abundance of saguaros, and gently rolling plains surrounded by picturesque mountains. Downtown Phoenix is 35 miles away, and the sports complexes and higher educational opportunities of the city of Glendale are in close proximity. Wickenburg, with its colorful past and world renowned ranches and resorts, is minutes away.

Growing from a red, one-room school house in Wittmann to a system of schools, soon to include a high school, The Nadaburg Unified School District's Nadaburg Elementary School has recently won distinction by being recognized as an A+ School. The Board of Education is committed to becoming recognized as a high achieving, future-oriented community of learners.

The PTSA has also received recognition for doing its part in supporting educational programs both within and after the school day. Arts and Athletics are critical to a vibrant community, and the district's mission is to graduate all of its students with the knowledge, skill sets, attitude and ethics necessary to succeed in the colleges and/or careers of their choice. As a result of their schooling at NUSD, all students will be able to demonstrate linguistic, cultural, mathematical, scientific, technological, ecological, economic, and ethical literacy. We know that this is a tall order, but we aim to "under promise and over deliver."

Desert Oasis Elementary School, located in Surprise, AZ, opened in August 2008 and is home to approximately 500 students and staff. The District is looking at securing a high school site just a few miles away and it is anticipated that this year's fifth graders will be the first to occupy NUSD's first secondary school--a school designed to connect our students to their futures.
